Here's one I'm working on right now. This is a midi sequencer built in processing that works according to simple cellular automata rules. Each circle in the ring is assigned a pitch, and at every clock tick it checks if it's neighbours are "on" or "off". If exactly one of its neighbours is on, it turns on, and its pitch is sent by midi to an external instrument.
