Glacial Spaces, 2018
Glacial Spaces is inspired by the geographer Doreen Massey:
"If we can’t go ‘back’ home, in the sense that it will have moved on from where we left, then no more, and in the same sense, can we go back to nature. It too is moving on." (For Space, 2005)
The sketch separates an image into three color channels, spinning them around a centre like the hands of a clock. I'm interested in the ways that this smears images, maps, and geographies, treating them as temporary alignments or time keepers.
